Tallahassee's not so much in the pan-handle as it is the armpit of Florida.
Really? In what way? I was planning on scoping it out next summer for retirement potential some day.
Mostly I have horrible memories from my time here. But it's incredibly boring, there's a buttload of cockroaches, and everyone is really political, even just as friendship goes, so many are happy to stab you in the back if it gets them anything.
@PolyWolf Bummer. Really hoping to find a cheap liberal warmish place to retire, with legal weed, lol.
@Naturecalls19 Well that's definitely not Tallahassee - just heard a story today about a girl being arrested for being in a car that someone else had weed in. It was absurd.
@PolyWolf Just have to keep looking. Hard to find that combo. Oh, and hopefully low crime and a decent sized University, lol.
Boo! Hiss! Yankee go home!
Oh like you wouldn't have said it yourself? roflmao...
@RavenCT maybe, but its like a sibling. You only get to insult them if you love them.
When did penises get armpits?
In a small science experiment gone terribly wrong!
ha, all of fla is an armpit, except of course for the asshole part.
g
As a Florida asshole I entirely agree. Pass the word, florida is terrible, please stop coming here. (Rubs hands together evily hoping this will work to keep all the tourists and carpetbaggers from coming here and trashing the place)
@OpposingOpposum i have nothing against good people living in fla for whatever reason, but the rest of 'em are floridiots. i hope the good ones rise up and take over!
g
@genessa if the folks who come here and complain about how awful it is would just leave we'd be fine.
@OpposingOpposum no, you'd still have rick scott. anyway i'm not there, so i can't leave. i've BEEN there. i left.
g
@genessa exactly. Florida is an absolute shithole. No one should come here.
I'll point out that Scott is a transplant foisted upon us by the rest of the country(somehow the trash from everywhere else manages to wash up here?) and the retirees who move here and vote Republican.
@OpposingOpposum i can't argue with that, though my folks, also transplants, were staunch democrats their whole lives, which both ended in florida due to medical incompetence. i guess doctors have a lot on their hands, what with old folks on drugs driving up on the sidewalks and killing pedestrians. not that anyone pedests anymore.
g
@genessa we do pedest around here and sadly take the chance of getting run down. Usually Florida docs are damn good with medicine for the elderly. You mind my asking where your parents lived?
@OpposingOpposum they died in boynton beach. dad was sick one night and mom drove him to the e.r. he was a heart patient and 71 years old (one week past his birthday) and they didn't even do an ekg. they said he had a cold and sent him home. my sister found him dead on the floor the next day. my mom had lupus, and she was told it was okay to have her enlarged spleen out (something you don't do to a lupus patient) because she didn't have lupus "anymore." (lupus is not curable.) they took out her spleen. the incision refused to heal. she was in so much pain she demanded to be killed. they did it with morphine, at her request. that won't be in her record of course.
