I've recently returned from a 3 day trip that lasted several months.
My father-in-law lives a long days drive on the other end of the state. He is old & had a stroke. It sounded awful and my wife insisted we go see him "before it is too late." It turned out to be awful but hardly too late. He is a retired army guy and tough as nails whether he is or not. He was released almost before we could get the car turned around.
We stayed a couple of nights with my wife's family and made the long drive back.
I have no idea why I wrote this except to shout where family cannot hear me that I would have rather had non-stop toot canals than to have suffered a second of that damned trip!
Vent away. I just spent the three longest hours of my life with my family. Who made several egg loaded dishes, and didn't think to tell me. I am allergic to eggs. Have been my entire life. My mother was one of the egg bringers. Feeling the love...
Maybe it's the benedryl, but the beginning of your post has me singing the Gilligan's Island theme song.
You didn’t go for you - you went for your wife, and that was the right thing to do.
