Curious, isn't it.
Thanksgiving is rooted in a religious ritual of giving thanks to an all-powerful hypothetical entity for the year's harvest.
Like Christmas, it is celebrated by people of all and no faiths.
Curious, isn't it??

Thanks giving to me feels like the white America is celebrating the overthrow of the Native population.

Ancient Pagan Rituals - I'm kinda down with the ancestral stuff. 😉 Ok it's food and family.

...like Christmas, without having also to buy presents!

@Petter Absolutely! And Christmas has been mainly about crafting for me lately. I kind of prefer it that way. And may keep that going.

@RavenCT Gifts that are not store-bought have always appealed to me. The commercialisation of Christmas is crass.

@RavenCT just give me the food and forget the family

@psycheworks I did that for a number of years. It wasn't half bad.
