I joined this site in June and want to let you all know that I have never done anything I have enjoyed more, at least not in recent years since my husband died. It is my first and only foray into Social Media and I have no desire to expand into other forums. I have wide and varied interests, but basically I’m a bit of a music geek...I love all sorts of music and post regularly in several of the music groups, from Classical, Folk, World, Classic Rock to just the main Music group. Those of you who know me by now will know that I absolutely love the Norwegian Band a-ha and its vocalist Morten Harket. I have never been able to articulate why I do to such a degree and it is obvious to everyone that he is good on the eye and has a unique and special voice, but that isn’t why I feel he is something out of the ordinary for a superstar. I know he is a deeply thoughtful and caring man and would like to share this video he made with a fan who is a Syrian refugee, and perhaps you will understand what I mean. She is a Muslim so she believes in Allah and mentions this, but that is to be expected. I hope you find it as touching as I do that Morten gave up his time to go to meet her and do this video.
Thank you for your compassion. The world needs it to heal.
We all need to be more tolerant of others.
I am glad you are happy here. I have had the same experience and feel I am making new friends after being lonely for a long time. I enjoy your posts. Maybe one day there will be a UK meet-up!
Thank you for that...I’m glad we’ve both met lots of new people here, and who knows we may be able to organise a get together sometime in the future...it’d be nice.
Rare and wonderful video. I have not been on this site as long as most people who posted on this page, so can add little to what has been said below, but will say that your posts always have quality and one of the first icons I look for when I switch on, is, to quote some not so good music, that lady in red.
What a lovely thing to say...I do appreciate it! ?
I think it's about aspiration. Reaching for something higher, better. She thinks in terms of Allah and the music of Ah-Ha. I have my own references, psychological and musical. I sure do relate, though, to people who aspire to something better even if they go about it a different way.
I'm very pleased that you are enjoying your time here and I'm grateful for the effort you put in to contribute to topics on the forum.
Thanks for your kind words....glad you like the video too.
Nice story, no doubt. Thanks
Glad you thought so.
What a lovely video. Music is so powerful ?
Glad you liked it.
What a lovely spirit she has. Thank you for sharing this.
Yes, we can’t really put ourselves in the shoes of someone who has had to flee like her. She must find Norway very cold and different from Syria, but she’s met her hero so that was nice. He is a great humanitarian and philosopher...he’s my hero too.
I too love this sight. It is nice to talk to people who are not interested in posting what they had for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Just for that... I have my daughter over. We had KFC. But I can't remember beyond one meal unless it was something spectacular.
