The millennials. Are we a lost generation or are we too hard on ourselves? We’re whinny, sensitive and glued to our screens. Yet we’ve also advanced many social causes. So which one is it you think?
Everyone is glued to their screens. It's a 2018 thing, not a millennial thing. We were just doing it first but i'm pretty sure my mom spends more time on social media than me.
Millennials rock. For every one stereotypical conspiracy-theorist/pothead/gamer, I see 20 of you who are making a difference, or trying your damnedest to. You all look at things for what they are, not for what they used to be. It's a breath of fresh air for me. Sadly, my generation failed all of you...but you didn't let our apathy infect and erode your optimism. Keep up the good work.
I'm not a millennial, but I have yet to see a convincing argument or data that shows there is something inherently wrong with millennials. Most complaints about that generation usually come from some whiny baby boomer trying to deflect from how awful and entitled that generation was.
I think defining people by generations is a fairly shallow way to classify people. Sure, the circumstances of our lives can change with big-picture stuff like technology, wars, etc., but a lot of other factors are at work: our cultural backgrounds, economics, class, ethnicity ... Regardless, I’ve always been lucky and learned a lot by having friends across all these lines, including older and younger. Millennials? You’re doing just fine.
Millenials have strengths and weaknesses, just like every other generation.
The current crop of young people are becoming politically involved, running for office, and winning. This is better than them being entitled little shits. I think this is a hopeful development, particularly when I remember what a clueless nitwit I was a their age. I think it's too little, too late, but I applaud the effort, just the same.
