Pretty presumtuous.
Throughout history most of what people believed turned out to be wrong.
He's not saying everything one learns is right. But if you foreswore curiosity and learning because it's not a perfect process, you'd never learn anything.
@mordant , true but I lean more towards being curious but not necessary believing anything as absolutely true unless emperically proven, even then there might still be some doubt.
e.g. why would any sane person believe everything their govts tell them about global warming? Some of the scariest words I can imagine would come from govt officials at my door saying "we're here to help you."
When I see or read about people with blind Faith in anything I'm reminded of Plato who said "the only thing I am certain of is that nothing is certain".
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but recently 2 women have accused him of sexual misconduct. There was a 3rd, pretty sure she came out long before #metoo and this uptick in celebrities being accused (and convicted in some cases) of past assaults. I've always seen NDT as a wolf in sheep's clothing, and this quote with the accusations just solidify that.
It's a good quote/philosophy, but I don't think he lives by it. Just words to amplify his Mr. Rogers mask.
