Feeling a little teary-eyed about a blanket I just finished crocheting. A friend asked if I’d make a Pride blanket for her daughter (7th or 8th grader?). I’m so honored to have worked on this and grateful for all the parents who love their kids unconditionally.
Horrible lightning in my apartment, colors look better in person.
My compliments on the piece of art.
But 7th grader and Pride on one sentence?
What’s your question about 7th grader and pride?
@Marcie1974 aren't kids, kids anymore?
@legna did you not have girl/boyfriends in 7th grade?? At what age is it acceptable for a gay person to acknowledge that? I had crushes and boyfriends starting in like 4th grade. But I guess that’s ok because I happen to be straight?
A beautiful show of support! Your stiching is so neat and even!
I performed a wedding last week for a gay couple and one of the groom's mothers had brought a handfasting cord she had specially made. I asked about the significance of the colors, and she said, they're the gay pride colors. Oh yeah! It didn't dawn on me as they were intricately braided. Another show of loving support by a parent.
