Fact 6: With gun crime increasing, the NRA doubled down by trying (all too often successfully) to frighten people into buying guns to protect themselves from all these criminals they helped to arm. Then they began calling for widespread concealed and open carry of firearms in public. In other words, they created a demand by enabling the arming of those who should never have guns, then doubling or tripling the demand by frightening people to buy guns to protect themselves from those the NRA helped to arm.
Fact 7: The greater degree to which the civilian population is armed and carrying guns in public, the greater degree to which you will have criminals, people with low emotional control, people with violent tendencies, sociopaths, and the mentally ill actually using the gun they have in public. There is a direct correlation between gun are the order of the day. Racism, ethno-centrism and reactionary ideology make the probability of gun violence even greater. In other words the NRA of today is a virulent and deadly malignancy of the body of our politics, society, and democracy. For the sake of our people and nation, it must be neutralized, if not destroyed.
