So every year around this time here in Oklahoma a few of the skyscrapers leave there lights on to create a cross every night. Would this fly if it was an Islamic symbol or any other faith symbol? Its ridiculous.

They should do the Buddhist symbol for peace instead:

Their buildings, their lights...whoever "they" might be. Fine with me

It’s currently Hanukkah, not Christmas. Where’s the Star of David or a menorah?

If the buildings are publicly owned it's a violation of separation of state and church. If not, it's a waste of energy.

The christians in this country don't care about anyone else's beliefs.
As far as they're concerned, theirs are the only ones that count.
When they're told they can't step on the rights of others, they pitch a fit, and scream "discrimination". It's all part and parcel of their ages-old persecution complex.

It’s a selfish waste of energy to me regardless of the symbol!

I know it’s their right but I find it annoying

Oklahoma is another poor Repulicon state
They don't know any better.

Their imagery doesn't bother me in the slightest. What I love is how the huge confederate flag drives everyone crazy around here. There is a guy who owns property that backs right up to I-95 near Fredericksburg. Some southern sympathizing group leased a space in his back yard and erected a huge flag pole. They fly the stars and bars on it and it drives people around here insane. The county and state have deemed they cannot force the guy to take it down. Several lawsuits have already been dismissed.

And before you get bent out of shape... I do not fly one at home, I actually fly a huge 5X10 American flag or a Jolly Roger (Calico Jack to be precise). I grew up in VA... I am used to seeing all the north/south stuff on display... Especially near Fredericksburg!

Hell no...this is America...where freedom of religion means your free to worship Jesus Christ any way you choose - Babtist, Methodist, Church Of Christ, Pentacostal, etc...

Makes me cringe but I do not begrudge them their symbols. When those symbols are used to silence and intimidate those of different or non beliefs or thinking we have a problem. When they seek to silence those not like them and use their belief against others we have a problem.
Free speech, freedom to believe/worship means for all not just the cross lovers.

I wonder how many of them remember it's an instrument of torture.
The early Christians used a fish, because they were not tone-deaf to how their hero was killed.

This is just down the road. It's the size of a damn skyscraper! I heard last night it cost a million bucks. There's so many needy people here, this makes me sick. Amen.

Christians love their excesses. They should read their precious book

There's one in Southern Illinois too. It kind of turns my stomach when I pass it.

I am a disabled homeless vet living in an RV. I hop from parking lot to parking lot every night. A couple weeks ago, on a Thursday night just before 9pm, I parked in a church parking lot (temp that night got down in low 20s). You know, those places that are completely empty and unused for 95% of the time? So no people there that night, nor service the next morning. Guess what, the pastor called the police to threaten me with jail for trespassing and told me to leave - but the pastor himself never even showed up - sent the cop to do his dirty work. Again, this was just after they had their Veterans Day Appreciation service, and a week or so before Thanksgiving. As a former christian, I know lots of Bible verses and stories, so I wrote a letter essentially calling him a hypocrite, cited many verses, and pointed out that Jesus was even at least offered a manger to stay in! I then left them 10 nickles, 10 dimes, and 10 quarter for their 30 pieces of silver in the letter's envelope. Told them to put the money towards a gate or a keep out sign, like the churches up the road had in their parking lot. I also told him next time to please press charges - at least that way someone (the state) would offer a warm bed and hot meal since they obviously didn't want to be bothered themselves to help the cold, hungry, and needy.

@jondspen Next time try a mosque or sikh temple. They are obligated to help.

I wonder if the 'YIELD' sign was placed there deliberately.

@evidentialist Hmmm.....

A cross the size of a building.
