Not to be a points slut but how often are they reviewed? I feel like it’s been a week that I’ve only been 1,380 away from level 8?!?!
Slut?? Lol... the things we find out about the sweet ones.
I rather enjoy having a sweet and innocent look
It’s fun to shock people
Are we who are heading to Level 8 the most frustrated with this points stuckness? I didn't really care so much about points until I'm getting closer and closer to Level 8. I want my T-shirt!!!! I don't need a t-shirt but it's like staking that flag on top of the mountain.
Yes, exactly!! I never kept track until about 7.5
My main purposes for this website is to meet people and learn all I can about a religion free life style and other knowledge. I do like the point system, because it gives me a goal to look forward to. Along with t shirt that comes with level 8. Maybe there will tank tops available when I reach level eight. Marcie I hope they fix it soon so you can be at level 8.
I agree about the main purpose of the site. However I like free shit and am excited to wear it out and about
@Marcie1974 Me to. I wonder how many weird looks I will get from the Christain fools in the area.
This is all over the Senate group ... Admin stated that point updating is a background task and he shuts it down at times when the system is under load. I've encouraged him to redesign that part of the system as it seems to be frustrating a lot of people. This is something that should be able to be done in real time or at least to run slower during the day and faster at night or something along those lines. I'm sure it'll get sorted out. Also ... the fact it's turned off may well indicate it's being actively worked on.
In my experience sometimes a function like this works perfectly fine until one random day, it doesn't -- because the # of records in the system hits some tipping point and/or the volume of interactive users exceeds some threshold. So this probably reflects growing pains, which is a good problem to have. Though this sort of thing is not pleasant, it is at least indicative of growth. Now the $64K question ... is there enough $$ and staffing behind this site to take it to the next level, or will it suffer the fate of a zillion other sites that drowned in their own success because there's no revenue model for growth.
Thanks for the update!!!
@irascible Yeah I have spent over 30 years building database driven apps and web sites. Currently I am doing back end code for a site with about 14,000 users tracking 10 million-ish business locations and various data on all of those. I'm not the DB admin or even the system admin, I'm a software architect, and sub about a third of my hours to a guy who actually IS a qualified DB admin. I'm also working a side vanity project writing a simple database server of my own, just to learn about things I don't normally deal with like expression parsers and b-tree indexes. Also to try to keep my aging brain supple.
