Why does it seem like when you desire human contact,that is when you are most alone?
Why is it that when I have no water, I feel thirsty?
Unless you have mobility issues, there are things you can do about this.
Such as?
Make yourself presentable, leave your house, and interact with people. Take up a hobby, join a club, do volunteer work, find the list of free activities offered in your community. Practice random acts of kindness. The list is endless.
If you weren't alone... would human contact still be a desire?
I think that is self-evident?
That comment is nonsensical!?
Isn't it obvious??
Yes,this was a rhetorical question
@KissedbySun is that rhetorical? Lmao
@KissedbySun why not? Is this not a place to discuss things??
Because when you're alone, you might also be lonely, but either way ... it's going to make lack of contact more noticeable.
Relationships have downsides. The grass is always greener. You just have to decide that it's all good.
I am not in a relationship,that is part of the problem.
@WayneDalton My point is that there are downsides (and upsides) to both relationships and singlehood. I've lived out both realities and do not see a clear advantage either way, honestly.
@mordant I beg to differ,would much rather be in a relationship,I do not like being alone?
@WayneDalton I understand. It took me well into my 50s to sort that out to a degree where I would not have any FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) if I were single. People have various motivations for being in relationships, but often it has something to do with finding The One, that fabled individual who will complete you, always accept and understand you, never disappoint or hurt you, and with whom you will live, conflict-free and Happily Ever After. It takes a long time to let go of those illusions. Even when you understand the above points intellectually, it takes time for it to soak into your marrow.
I just feel bad that single people usually doom themselves to unhappiness based on just that one facet of their lives.
Last night was an especially bad night for me,lonely and depressed?
Why? Whassup? Get out there and mix it up! I know... You don't feel like it! Been there, done that, had the pity party. But sometimes, if you force yourself... You'll have fun on accident and you might even meet someone. Maybe not Miss Right... But sometimes Miss Right Now works.
@KissedbySun, @RiverRick I'm looking?
Why does it seem like you desire water when you are most thirsty?
Seriously?
Yes,I am very serious?
It seems self evident, does it not? You only miss something if it isn’t there.
Because you only notice something is missing when it isn't there.
Jaysus, you just hit the nail in the head with this one.
