I’ve been gone from here for six years only to return and find that no shops will take my “old” money...not even the place that changed my American money to “new” money. It seems it has to be taken to a bank by an account holder to be exchanged. This is crazy! Lol. If you have USA money from the past 100 years it still spends the same! ((Visiting mum in Oxfordshire for the holidays))

Trying exchanging money from Syria or countries that no longer exist...I have a suitcase full...ha ha

Beautiful money...

That is a craft or decorating project waiting to happen!

@CommonHuman Actually, I am taking them to be appraised...I was told some of it might actually be worth something to collectors. I had some Civil War banknotes that fetched a few hundred dollars...it will be interesting to see...but yeah, I would love to decoupage some of it onto a box or something! ha ha

In Mexico businesses and individuals alike won't accept bills with a small tear or that are noticeably worn. And that's even for otherwise new notes.

Interesting!

Ooh! Monopoly Money!!

The new money is prettier and more colorful. Pretty and colorful money is always more desirable than monochrome old money. I learned that in Economics class...or Art class, one or the other.

Take pics for posting.

If you take your old notes to the bank, they will change them. Better still, don't use cash. I virtually never use cash.

Or leave all your left over money with me (Come and say hello!)

I went to Barclays to change it and they said I must have an account. Buggers. Mum’s taking it to her bank tomorrow. ??

@SkotlandSkye That's pathetic. Well as long as you are sorted. I know they do change them. Anyway say hi if you are passing

@SkotlandSkye maybe it was stale
