Didn't see a category this fit in exactly, though in a sense this one does.
I think there should be a "Welcome to Earth" card for every child born. It doesn't even have to be given to the child necessarily, just be a universally available message. I'm thinking it needs to be predominantly generic, and explain that in addition to their family and local culture, there is a whole planet out there with diverse views on and from other people and cultures. These viewpoints are political, religious, deal with things like education, sexuality, gender roles, environmental issues, economic opportunities, etc.
Aside from planting the seed that whoever they become is up to them, with a great show of unconditional love and encouragement from those promoting the message, it would be a message asking for their help. The message would indicate they came into a world (or "came out of it" as Alan Watts would say), that has numerous problems to be dealt with, and that we're hoping they might learn and grow in order to help provide some solutions. We would also want to ask them to let us know what problems they are personally having in their own area. Imagine children responding indicating not enough to eat, or they're sick, or their caretakers have no work, or no place to live, or a lack of proper clothing.
Imagine backing up these requests with action. These welcome cards could be a game changer in a planetary consciousness doing what humanists generally do... bring people together starting with the acknowledgment of our shared humanity.
