So often I hear about the holidays being '' stressfull ''. That always amazes.me, ** I have always felt happy, excited, and even peaceful at these times now, wishing it could last all. year. I love the lights, the music, the Story ( even if I don't believe its anyways true ) the special dinners, friends dropping by with presents, and the fun of the Santa Clause myth. To me this always has been the happiest time of the year.

You're one of the lucky ones. If you are short of money, or have relationship issues or family worries, or job worries it isn't so easy.

I am in debt nearly 80 K , my marriage is a counterfeit marriage, my 2 sons are living back home not able to find work, or not able to be self supporting for what ever in the devil reasons, I am disabled from an accident to my foot, I can hardly walk , have no cartilage in my knee , facing knee surgery in January, and I wish I had job worries. I am too old and disabled to work now and I MISS having a job so anybody who does needs to be grateful. And I still love these holidays. Lincoln said ,or he is supposed to have said, ' A man is about as happy as he thinks he is.' We in this country do not face famine, we have medical care, are not stoned to death , etc. Count your blessings instead of Sheep like Bing used to sing. I am lucky to wake up each morning alive - that is the lucky part. The rest doesn't count.

@HippieChick58 or are the one who does all of the work to make that magic. Holidays are hard.

When you said, "good stuff to keep in mind" - I though you were referring to whiskey. IMO that's the best thing to keep in your mind during the holidays! Holidays like Festivus, Christmas, New Years, Groundhog day, Haiku Poetry Day, Compliment Your Mirror Day, Penguin Awareness Day, Work Naked Day, or any day that falls on or between Sunday - Saturday.

Mindfulness mindfulness mindfulness

Meditation may be saving my sanity, if there is any left to save.

So. Much. Yes. I hate when people say "I shouldn't be upset about this because someone else might have it worse." Someone else's experience has fuck all to do with how you feel about your experience. The best way to get yourself to a healthy place is to accept the feeling, name it, let it flow, then move on.

And clean your toilet mouth. Only vulgar people use vulgarity. Your mom should have told you. You ruined a good response with vulgarity.

@FlaGoldenGirl That is uncalled for. @Minta79 is an adult, she can use the language that she deems appropriate.

NOt in a public forum, her 'rights' stop where my nose begins, and everybody else who is sick to vomit of hearing vulgarity. You are wrong, no one has the '' right '' to abuse good manners and decency in public venue. We can avoid movies and media that we know are toxic but reading down something like this - not way to avoid it until you encounter it. Not ok. Adult does no equal porn even though now days porn is called adult. I am an adult and I choose not to be vulgar .

@FlaGoldenGirl please feel free to block my vulgar ass. I am not in violation of any site or community rules, and will not censor my language based on your standards. That is no different at all from Christians demanding that the government legislate their morality onto the rest of us...
