Am I an apostate if I never was truly religious? I just love words and I'm curious about which ones relate to me. this word happens to be fairly new to me.
Sadeq Mullahlah was beheaded for apostasy even though he denied the Saudi Arabian theocracy crime....his last words before a very sharp blade severed his neck completely : " I AM INNOCENT YOU ARE OPPRESSIVE " A Saudi Princess and her lover were both beheaded because she refused to marry an arranged marriage. ...
Yup, if you once attended church and believed in it.
Definition of apostate: a person who renounces a religious or political belief or principle.
Apostasy is the abandonment of a religion. So, it depends upon how you view abandonment. I think your former fellow Christian would think so, but I think it’s readonable for to assume you were never a member to begin with. It depends upon your measure I suppose. If behavior sets are your measure, then you are. If you’re personal stance and self identity is the measure, then your not.
Although you say you were never "truly" religious, if you were a member of, participated in, attended religious activities, I would say that your are an apostate. If you were never involved with religion, a church or religious activities in any way, I would say you are NOT an apostate. Just my opinion of course.
That makes sense. I did show up for a year or so
