Maybe people believe in God because they are cowards with themselves.
I def would not say most are cowards. Sometimes I would love go back childish thinking of divine beings and afterlife. Who wouldn't want see the ones they lost after it is all done. I could never do that though. It would take a god coming down and squatting a grumpy in my front lawn for me believe. I'm willing bet a lot of believers lean more towards agnostic but would never admit it.
I feel sorry for those people when their time is up.
Or maybe those that openly object to god are cowards too. Like a fear of commitment because you're afraid you might fail and have extended yourself.
Or maybe those who can't decide if there is a God or isn't are the cowards. Just pick already.
So either way you look at it theist, atheist, or agnostic if done for the wrong reasons you're a coward.
I wouldn't want to say coward. Let's face it, if you are taught there is a space god that gives you everlasting life, you don't want to accept that you are probably nothing more than worm food when you die.
and maybe they believe in god because that's what they were taught and they've not yet had a reason to question what they've been taught. that makes them unadventurous at the very least but it does not make them cowards.

good point of view, but I think they are cowards when they face the reality of life.
most of the time they stick their heads into a hole because they do not want to hear the truth.
The truth sometimes hurts.
@Williamcristiano how do you know that most of the time they stick their heads in a hole? some undoubtedly do. many undoubtedly do. most? and how do you know that the reason is cowardice? not all fear is cowardice.
