Just so I have this straight. The Senate passed a CR to keep government open. Then Paul Ryan doesn't bring it to vote in the House because tRump said he'd veto it. Paul Ryan leaves the House, House promptly votes for a CR. Now the Senate won't bring it to a vote because tRump will veto it.I would like one good reason why legislation in Congress isn't voted on just because there might be a veto.Vote on it, send it tRump, let him veto it, then override it if there are the votes. Isn't that how it's supposed to go?
no. all budgetary bills begin in the house. the house passed a cr. then the senate passed it. yes, the republican senate! trump wouldn't sign it. then the new house came in. they have passed some bills to reopen the government. mcconnell refuses to bring any of them to the floor. that is where we stand now because he wants to do what the president wants (since when is that congress' job?)

If the House passed it, and the Senate passed it, why didn't it go to tRump?
@nvrnuff it did go to trump. he wouldn't sign it.
then the new house came in and passed bills, some of which were the same as what both the house and senate passed before when both houses were republican. THIS time mitch won't put it to the vote because he says the president doesn't want it.

Yup it's McConnell being the bastard not bringing it to the floor. He needs a big push from the Koch Brothers to bring the vote to the floor.
