I am a dog lover and I see every dog as beautiful. I have never seen a hostile puppy so if they are mean it is because some ass made them so.This brings me to dog shows . I wish we would do away with this capitalist use of man's best friend. There isn't any dog shown that isn't beautiful.
My two - ex racing greyhounds.
The lighter coloured, and somewhat larger, is archy. The smaller and darker is mehitabel (though I actually call her bel).
Love 'em to bits.
Anyone who happens to recognise the names archy and mehitabel from the writings of the US author Don Marquis will understand why I don't write them with capital letters.
The cockroach who jumped on the typewriter keys?
@stinkeye_a That's the one, with his friend, the ally cat.
When it comes to Pit Bulls, most owners (I know that this is not the central to the O.P.), have a blind eye. [dogbitelaw.com]
I do not consider people that enter their dogs in dog shows true animal lovers .They are status seeking snobs that are ruining the genitics of purebreds due to breeding what they consider desirable traits in certain breeds that are unhealthy for the dog such as low sloping hips in German shepherds that lead to hip disintegration when they get older .This is why mixed breeds are usually healthier due to a mixed gene pool.
It is criminal to do this to them.
or bulldogs that can barely breathe...it is disgusting...
I agree...the pointing/hunting ability was all but bred out of Irish Setters to produce that beautiful Red coat so popular at dog shows.
My big old black lab is on his last legs...he is not a purebred...just a nice mix of who knows...I am taking him to the vet on Saturday...a painful reminder that we have to do what is best for our best friends..
He is best of show in my heart always....
