We can appreciate her telling truth about the humane execution of that evil elephant (who dangerously stood there nice and docile while she was executed) by someone other than our beloved Tom Edison who only ordered the execution of dogs, cats, horses, cows, and even an orangutan on stage. And it's ok that the first source she cites actually confirms that Tom was involved in the elephant execution.

@Gooniesnvrdie Firstly let me say that I respect vegans especially more than vegetarians who hypocritically denounce me for eating meat but happily eat dairy. However I must say that terms like murder are too strong. We have because of our society rightly outlawed the killing of another human unless under very defined terms. It is part of every legal and moral system ever devised. Jeffrey Dahmer killed his victims. That is different than pure cannibalism. I have met people who have ate placenta, we all have eaten loose skin on our finger and even the spit swallow debate could be defined a cannibalism.
The killing of animals is not and should not be called murder. To do so is to impose your world view on others. A practice that we abore in theists. What Edison did was abhorrent, cruel and totally reprehensible. You can call him a cunt but not a murderer. To do so would condemn all non-vegans as complicate murderers. Which sounds to me like theists who condemn any that do not adhere to their particular branch of religion as sinners and the devils agents.

@Gooniesnvrdie I have a cat that I love very much but if push came to shove then yes she would be guitar strings. That is if it ever came down to her or me but hopefully things will never get to that.
I do appreciate that so much of us carnivores food is divorced from its source. Personally I think that no one has the right to eat meat unless they are prepared to kill and dress an animal Its one thing to have it in a burger or wrapped up in plastic. Another to see it as a living thing first then as meat.

@Closeted Murder is the unlawful killing of another human being period. What he did may have been as unforgivable as murder but you cannot call it that. As for other animals and their deaths at our hands........
In Harvard university there exists 3 types of white mice. To all intents and purposes they are the same. No difference in breed colour or genetics but nevertheless they are classified under 3 separate types. The 1st is the experimental mice. They live under strictly controlled humane conditions and anything you do to them has to be documented and approved. The 2nd are the mice kept to feed the snakes. They are reasonably well looked after but end their days been swallowed alive. The 3rd are the white mice that are descendants of escapees. These infest the walls and floors of the building and you can do what you like with them.
