Do you have a favorite Bible verse? (Yes, I know most of us are not believers any more, but there are some bizarre doozies in there, like my favorite from Proverbs: "As a dog returneth to its vomit, so doth a fool return to his folly". I just picture a couple of Middle Eastern dudes sitting in the dust watching dogs vomit and philosophizing about it)
"My cup overflowth" I think of love when i think of that verse. I believe it is psalm 53:4
2 Kings 2:23-24
From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.
Lesson: Don't mess with bald men!
"And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 King James Version
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Matthew Chapter 6:1-8
Bible readers hate it when I point this out when they're set up in front of stores trying to preach the word of doG to me and others.
One lady actually put her things up at a 'Stripes' store and apologised to me. I told her, "I am a messenger. You are doing it all wrong." (I asked for her bible and pointed to this chapter below, then I hugged her.) As I was leaving, she chased me down to apologise. She told the other 2 women with her to "put the stand and box everything back in the car." The other women were confused and asked her why. She just said, "Please, just do what I ask. We'll talk about it later."
Giving to the Needy
6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Prayer
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
"Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness..." That explains everything!
Handy poop trowel advice actually...
Deuteronomy 23:13
And you shall have a trowel with your tools, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig a hole with it and turn back and cover up your excrement.
Very sensible and that tool sounded like a bronze age Swiss army knife.
Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
In the movie Cool Hand Luke, Luke wins a poker game with nothing. His reply to Dragline is “sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.” Also, Luke's prison uniform number is 37.
