We live in a nation that is willing to bankrupt itself and spend more of its GDP on its military than any other nation on earth. We are ruled by a person who disregards the constitution, rule of law, & separation of powers whenever these foundations prove inconvenient. We have the masses being dumbed down by a dysfunctional education system. Our ruler denies science in favor of filthy fossil fuels. Americans are being poisoned by their food & the health care system is prohibitively expensive. We incarcerate more of our citizens than any other nation on earth, and refuse to comprehend our greed, stupidity, and ignorance will be our undoing. Oligarchs have bought and for all levels of the Government. 2 minutes till midnight. The USA is not great, not mediocre. The USA is not a great nation, it’s a failing Democracy transitioning into a Plutocracy. A nation of the people, by the people, and for the people has already perished from the earth.

No. We are not. Not all of us are “doing good.” We still have hatred, poverty, healthcare that is unavailable to some, inequality, etc. and we have lost respect, as a country, on the world stage. We, most assuredly, are not all doing well.

@goldenvalleyguy how nice FOR you. i live by the grace of social security disability and food stamps. if those go byebye, i got byebye, permanently. not everyone is in such a good position and can afford to ignore politics, and by the way, not ignoring politics doesn't make one a hater. i worked really hard and did not achieve my dreams or goals, because guess what? i got sick. and no, i didn't get sick because of anything i did wrong. it HAPPENED. so... it's not all good. lucky you, it's all good for you. i actually care that it's not good for other people besides myself, too. how much of a hater does that make me?

@goldenvalleyguy yeah you know why? because of people who don't participate. your choice. but then again, don't tell me it's all good. it's good for YOU (for now anyway). it's not ALL good. you're not all.

@goldenvalleyguy yes. That is a fact. Unfortunately, not everyone will have it easy getting to that point. Perhaps, if you got out of you comfort zone, you could actually help improve someone’s life.
@goldenvalleyguy mores the pity. If we were all shared your attitude, we would still be living in trees.
Examples: Jonas Salk, Martin Luther King, Alexander Graham Bell, Helen Keller, Lincoln, George Washington Carver, Robert Fulton... they and others all thought we could be better. They cared. They wanted to help others. As a result, we are all better.

@goldenvalleyguy Actually, none of the accomplishments of the people I mentioned, with the exception of Lincoln, were political or religious. But, whatever...
