YES! I'm turned loose from PT and OT and home health. FREE ! Except for my husband, who is bossy, and tries to tell a nurse what to do. I'm looking forward to new knees in my near future. I want some pain free days before I die. I have 6 years left according to the Doc that did my chemo. I'm not one to just do what a Dr says. They Practice Medicine, hold onto that thought. Treatments change radically from year to year. Makes me skeptical. I want to dance in high heels again. I want to exercise again. I want to loose the 25 pounds that jumped me. I really want this surgery to work, and I'm willing to work hard to make it happen.

Always happy to hear good news. Now go ahead and live another 20 years and thumb your nose at your chemotherapist.

The Chemotherapist was a sweetheart. The Radiation Doc was a prick. Thank you for your kind words, but I don't want to be 80. I think old is ugly.

I do believe in us...as a whole package. So focus on what gives you...your meaning. What is it that you feel you were put here to do and just keep doing more and more of it! Your body is just the vehicle to carry around the person that you are. Keep it in the best working order that you can and try not to take on any fears that others around you might have. We each have our own fears and they are our only responsibility. Best of luck in all that you desire...

Go for it! Do whatever it takes to provide yourself with some quality of life in your remaining time.
I am 81 and 11 years ago after a heart attack and having a pacemaker implanted, I started an exercise routine with weights at the gym I have stayed with and steadily increased the weight training routine over the entire time. Today, my heart strength is above normal, my weight is down by over 20 pounds, and I have been told by trainers that I work out with the heaviest weights of any man my age that they know of. I am physically strong, but don't have the endurance of youth.

Go for it. Even giving it a try is worth it.

Between the cancer, the treatment, and the pelvic sacral break I've turned to jello. I want my true self back.

@ForTheBirds I understand. Do what yoiur body lets you. Staqrt the physical activity at a level that is comfortable or slightly stretching your comfort. Gradually increase over time. If it weight activity, when you reach a point that feels very comfortable, try adding 5 or 10 pounds. If cardio-vascular exercise, try gradually increasing the rate and/or time gradually. Listen to your body" Don't try to increase too much too quickly. Once you start, the key is sticking with it. You will eventually reach a point at which you will look forward to -- actually need -=- the activity. Good luck.

If you need any encouragement or advice, don't hesitate to ask.

Wow, you have to dance now! Who does that doctor thinks he is, a god? Predicting you have 6 years... no one for sure knows when the time is up! Get those new knees and set out to dance! I have a par of really high heeled shoes in my closet waiting to be used for dancing! I will join you!

I saved 1 pair of Steve Madden slut slides I got in LA because I LOVE THEM and just can't part with them. In 20 pounds I can get in the dress. See you in 6 months ! I live in FL, so start saving for airfare.

Made my day! You just go girl! I need slut slides immediately! 🙂 @ForTheBirds

Yes! Please keep fighting. Waited 6 mos. for a knee replacement and one week before surgery they found a blood clot during my pre-op. Have to wait another 90 days and now my job is on the line. I want this over so I can workout my lower body and go for walks again. Don't really have an expiration date like it sounds you have but I know what you're going through. Good luck!

I'm doing pre op now, getting ready to take a jug of pee to the lab.
