I am on the market for a new thermos (specifically for coffee). I am interested in it being leakproof and it only has to keep the coffee hot for 3 hours. Please share if you've found the perfect thermos or if you got a dud you would not recommend. *If you could be so kind as to post details as to type and size in the comments, I would appreciate it.
My Reduce Wedge thermos keeps hot tea steaming hot for over four hours.
It does a better job than any thermo my hiking partners have tried over the years.
Here's one on E-Bay for $10:
I have a large thermoscafe by Thermos I’ve had for over a decade. Works great for night shifts for keeping my tea hot.
If I’m just going to a sports event or something where I can have an open drink, I have Yetis for that. They’re good too.
...of course, all stanley thermoses are good.
Screw the red solo cup - the green Stanley thermos is the ultimate beverage container!
I have a (actually a pair) of 'contigo' cups. They're not carafe size but large for drinks. They keep my tea hot for hours and they are very spillproof. Like other suggestions here they are expensive (so I've been told -- they were a gift) but I'll highly recommend them.
My nephew and his wife both use Yetis for their coffee. They swear by them.
I've heard they're expensive, but last a long time, and keep hot liquids hot, and
cold liquids cold.
So, I think this is just another instance of "you get what you pay for".
I think Yeti is over priced, and comparable performance can be found for less money. The Reduce brand has been good to me, and has good customer service when I lost the top to my 32 ounce coffee mug.

I just think of the ring as being well seasoned, rather than dirty

The Contigo brand at Costco are nice, and affordable as well as dishwasher safe!
I believe the top screws on, so it can be inverted without spilling.
