Most of the candidates that run for office are already wealthy and need not get paid. I think the presidential perks are enough. Security, healthcare, tuition etc. Change is necessary. How about putting someone in office who actually needs the money? [aol.com]

Fact many who become Senators who are not millionaires when they join will leave as such. They are privy to many insider trading positions and if they take action on these they become wealthy. It deems they are above the law in this manner.

The gov't spends a lot on taking care of it's own when the money could be appropriated to a better cause. After people leave office they should be relegated to their former lives and become average citizens again like the rest of us.

@IAJO163 Th3ey now have a law regarding their employment for one year after they leave office but I am not sure how it works.
