I always tell new hires, don't think of me as your boss ,think of me as a friend who can fire you
I don't have a " boss " and I will never have one . I have a director who makes sure I practice within policies and regulations and is there to protect my practice and catch my mistakes for everyone's goodness . Getting fired is a joke to me , my response is " b4 the ink dries to my termination paperwork , there will be 10 positions offered down the street ".
People who work under my supervision will never have to hear or act with the fear of " firing ". I find this cruel . Everybody makes mistakes and the point is to correct them and direct them to right direction . If the basic policies are broken and I am aware of it , I will still give a warning to resign b4 firing / reporting . People have kids to feed and rent to pay . I am not sigh anyone's firing walking papers except if abuse comes to play .
Ah, but how many people are you still friends with whom you regularly hang out with?
I'm not your underling, I'm an employee who's subordinate to you.
Please go easy on me.
