This is funny but sadly true. There are a lot of messy, sloppy people.
When I was getting my undergraduate degree in archaeology at U of A, I was required to take a class by Dr. Rathje in Garbology. Archaeology by definition is a science dedicated to studying human behavior and culture through the things they leave behind (trash). So in this class, we studied modern garbage rescued in collaboration with Tucson trash collection services. We sorted trash, identified neighborhoods of origin, and socio-economic relationships. Caveat: Privacy was honored at all times. It was fascinating for a semester.
I met Dr. Rathje. He was a speaker at a recycling conference and I was his aid for the conference. The guy could drink like a fish and then be fine the next day.
A county narc always went to the perp's trash. He was amazed at the evidence people threw out.
