Tonight Stacey Abrams showed herself to be a woman of intelligence, courage, honor, and compassion who cares about our people and nation. I would be proud to work with her on anything or to have her represent me in some capacity. I say this in two senses.
I spent the first eleven years of my life in a small town in south Georgia. It was a profoundly racist culture -- one in which all institutions were racially segregated, in which I was taught that I was not to address Black men as "sir", one in which a classmate chastised me because she saw me playing with some Black boys. I am proud to say that I have overcome the lingering effects of that culture and that I can and do recognize and honor Ms. Abrams for who she is and what she has accomplished -- and for what she will yet accomplish.
She is one to watch...I understand that she is looking to run for senator next...I think she will do well...her story and her platform appeals to many in Georgia who are just like you...
She was completely robbed of the governorship of Georgia.
Kemp stole that election.
Absolutely correct.
@Bobby9 Kemp was Secretary of State, throughout his entire campaign. His office oversaw the election. He should have stepped down from his position as SoS as soon as he declared his candidacy, due to his glaring conflict of interest, but he did not.
There were many "irregularities" and numerous claims of voter suppression, which occurred even BEFORE the gubernatorial election. They were brushed aside by Kemp's office and not properly investigated.
In the run-up to the 2018 election, there was a concerted effort to suppress the minority vote. There were court cases, which were lost and implemented anyway.
So, your comment of "doubtful" has no basis in reality.
You truly do not know what you're talking about.
