Not only what was said in the screen shot, but who does he think is running the fast food joints when these teenagers are at school?

lol are you accusing the out-of-toucher of actual thinking?

@genessa not really. It's just one of those questions that provokes the response, "oh, yeah...."

"...But, of course, African Swallows are not migratory."

Cue stymied dumbfoundedness. "Oh, yeah."

Lol.

They are living in a world in which they are the only ones who matter.

When people do well, we all do well...better service, less stressed out people, safer, etc. I never understood the thinking that low paying jobs were for teens...just because a person is a teen does not mean they are cheap labor...that nonsense has got to stop...

I wonder how any of us would get along with no one working these "menial" jobs?...all jobs are needed and those who do them should be respected and that means they have to be able to live off of their wages without having to work three or more of them...

I work in retail and I have a ton of older coworkers. I honestly don't know how they survive, especially since I have no kids, and i can barely survive.

I worked my way up minimum wage to management, and basically doubled my paychecks. I still don't make enough.

Most of the folks that I work with are also in , so it makes sense to them. But I still don't understand how anyone over 25 could be working these jobs.

Management was really a trap for me, and I've since stepped down to assistant. Its really frustrating to work for a company that I know can't be a for me.

I don't judge anyone who does make it a , and they do seem comfortable with their decision. I just wish that the rest of society would stop treating us like garbage.

My father told us when we were young to do any job with pride and to do the best whether it was scrubbing the floors or running a calculator...I worked fast foods all through school...almost went to Hamburger University for management...I never forgot his words...so I treat those working with consumers with dignity and respect...without you all, our lives would not be the same...I also watch how others treat people...if they don't treat the janitor as nice as the CEO, then they are not worth knowing...you, sir, are not garbage...

If you look around grocery stores you will see adults who are trying to get by and that is the job they can get. Business's rarely hire people with experiance because they want someone to do the job without thinking about the wage. We don't have a jobless problem we have an employer problem.

indeed. and it's a vicious cycle too because of course the complaint is that these people should educate themselves so they can get better jobs so they'll deserve better wages, but education is only for the elite too, right? and not everyone is a genius. it doesn't mean they're stupid; it's just that not every was born to be steve jobs or louis pasteur or beethoven. meanwhile we still want our burgers, and we want our stores stocked.
