Does anyone have dreams, or nightmares, they think are based on being raised in religion....occassionally I will have a dream that seems have a storyline based on a religious theme, with my dead father or mother, both baptist, advising, or admonishing me....the next morning I remember having the dream, but can't remember the details....know there was a storyline, no recall what it was in details.

I dreamt I joined a cult for the purpose of exposing them..( it's a "school in NY in reality I was always suspicious was cultish)...and then in the dream I got sucked in and had to get rescued and deprogramed.

Yeahhh....I have long list of "things that didn't go well"....try to put those over in the"garbage heap" of dream(nightmares)...and flush...twice... thanks for your reply
@HankSherman. Have you ever woken upset with somebody because of something they did in your dream...but didn't actually do? Lol...i have. Takes all day to shake it.
@Dandewine a few times, it somestimes helps if I go to that person and tell them about it, maybe appoligize.....another is dreaming I'm in a really bad fix, and the dream is so real that when I awake..,I spend the rest of the day feeling so relieved...wake up saying damn!!! Glad that was a dream.
Maybe your unconscious mind is feeling guilty about you not following your parent’s religion.

Have had thoughts about that, perhaps....also , since I'm 75, and in sorta failing health....fear of death, ect. .... am really wondering if others share similar experiences.....thanks for your reply.

Fear of the unknown is the base of all religions.
Some people believe that we have the power to cure ourselves, others that we are what we think, energy, etc...
I believe that worrying never helps, fear is our worse enemy, and death boxes don’t have drawers, so the only thing that lasts forever is LOVE.
Have you and are you loved?
Self love is more important than medicines. Been content with our lives and happy for all the life we were fortunate to live, is in my opinion the major reason to be in peace with ourselves.
Other than that...
Paradise and hell are right here, where we can love and be loved, and we can lose our loved ones.
We are star dust...so why worry?
Yes! Just this week I had a dream about being baptized in the mormon church. I woke up shaken!
