Too bad many don't know what my guys and gals go through.
As of today, just like then in this video... ain't happening. I-80 is back at it again.
I was able to thank this amazing man for his courage and badassery under pressure. Does he have some mad drifting skills or what?! His mother was definitely one proud mama and we all thanked her too.
He jackknifed at the top of the hill on I-80 in Truckee, Ca. His rear brakes on the second trailer locked up.
I was mildly impressed, until in the end I saw it was a doubles rig then I was really impressed.
That right there is a seasoned driver. Remember not to panic, and the the brakes can be your enemy in situations like that.
My brother is a truck driver so seeing videos like this always makes me fear for his safety...at least he knows when enough and enough and will get off the road even if his load will be late...dying for deliver is not worth it! Wow...
Yet again, that’s what trains are for… I’ve spent some serious time our Interstates, and trucks like that make them far more dangerous than designed. Haul it by rail, then distribute it by truck.
@creative51 I’ve often considered our nation’s rail structure a good example of ‘Libertarianism’ not working; private enterprise incapable or unwilling to provide the services needed. And, our Federal Interstates as a prime example of the opposite; they’d never have been built with ‘private enterprise.’
The trucking lobby has become too entrenched to dislodge… Every major wreck I’ve witnessed on our Interstates recently involved an 18 wheeler. Though some may claim ‘a car caused it’ - it was always accompanied by a massive, backup inducing tractor-trailer rig..
Absolutely. We have roads clogged with slow moving trucks and an underused rail system
