What do you think of the value of knowledge? Is it worthwhile collecting facts, or should one focus on thinking techniques and tools? Or is it more about wisdom? What is the difference?

One never gets enough education. So, everyone should try to learn something new each and every day!

If you just collect facts you are nothing more than a database. In the days of the Internet this is almost completely worthless. But critical thinking without some input you are just an empty vessel. Both facts and thinking techniques are necessary for being a functional human being.
For wisdom you need something else in addition to facts and critical thinking, you need an understanding of ethics in the most general sense. From facts and logic alone you can't derive what we should do, what our goals should be, how our society should look like ect.

A collection of facts is just that. Formulating conclusions without considering facts is no good either. The scientific method describes the best method for the advancement of knowledge if done correctly. The value of knowledge is seen all around us: medicine, crops, buildings, our power supply, and our toys. Our destruction of our environment is where it all goes wrong.
