But the laws against driving under the influence are good laws; at least if you're not an incurable alcoholic or drug addict.
Some laws make sense and should not be broken. Like the law about not yelling fire in a public venue. I'm just afraid as soon as I hit reply one of Donnie's minions will think that yelling fire in a crowded theater is a great idea and try to change that law. I don't want to throw out all laws, just the laws that are put in place that hurt innocent people.
I get it. I was just being goofy.
Doing our social duty.
When we break the rules, it does not bring us joy.
No. We do it so society can employ
A host of folk and keep them off the dole,
Like Judges; Lawyers; Clerks. The rigmarole
Of court proceedings generates great gigs
of peripheral employments, such as wigs
And gowns. Policemen soon would all be out of work
If we, the general public, tried to shirk
Incumbent duty and not disobey.
Thus I exhort you: Break a rule today!

Also use jury nullification in all cases where the government is wrong, marijuana use comes to mind.
I used to bring this up teaching Les Miserables when the Nun lies twice to protect Jean. I had one student, only one, who said lying was always wrong as it was a commandment. Not sure what he would say, or phrase this today. He is a Lutheran minister. And I know he has handed out a dozen or so keys to his church in case ICE comes for some local aliens.
I wonder if Sanctuary Laws still exist and where?
@RavenCT not in the US, outside of cities, but so far ICE won't go into churches. ICE has tricked some people out by holding their kids hostage. Nice assholes.
@Beowulfsfriend That's beyond horrible.
Breaking the law since I was old enough to be a law breaker. And as an Anarchist, the only law I won't break is my own. I rule me. I know many think Anarchist follow no law but they have it the wrong way round, we don't need a law to tell us right from wrong and we choose the right, regardless of law.
I was gonna post that...
@TheGreatShadow Bit before your time, LOL This is more your era
I agree that when laws, like those mentioned in the meme, are contrary to sound ethics, we should follow ethics rather than the unethical laws. However, the vast majority of laws are aligned with sound ethics, and we should not break such laws.
The end of the meme seems to suggest that we should break all laws. With that, I disagree.
