With this new category of people BAME (I think it means Black, Asian, Middle Eastern), does that mean we are now talking White European, BAME and Indiginous as the only racial types. I’m not taking aim at anything, just wondering what everyone else thinks!

I learned the acronym WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) back in the 60's. Unless the group that the connotation refers to uses it, then I don't.

Then it shouldn't be "BAME" but just "ME" which is all minorities included. Then, if you live in China, are whites BME? And in Botswana the group would be AME ?...

The acronym BAME stands for black, Asian and minority ethnic, which has become increasingly prevalent in recent years. Some brushes are wide, some are narrow, I guess it depends on how detailed you need to be, I think it's more of a academic idiom.

Apparently people who are described by these categories were not happy about being lumped together in the singular term Black.

It's "black, Asian, minority ethnic" - and as such includes all minorities.

Thanks. I wasn’t too sure what was meant. Another label to cause more trouble!
