Banging headache, full of a cold, fever, nauseous...I need sympathy. I also need to buy a new fridge. Eyes ache, I feel blurghy and I need to write out my new proposal for students. I want to sit on the sofa in my jammies and my Mum to bring me hot vimto (Brits will get it!). She's dead and I'm 52...oh hum. You lot will have to step in...

Hope it was the still Vimto, not the fizzy stuff! Vimto beats Ribena, especially with a shot of something added and an Ibuprofen on the side. Commiserations.

I went through a box of tissues while grading papers yesterday. Today I teach. You have company in your misery.

@MissKathleen
Thanks for the wishes, but regarding Airborne:

Sorry to hear that you are felling under the weather. Hope you are feeling better but hot vimto ?. Yuk. What you need is a good hot toddy with a large measure of Scotch.

Ok then...I'll leave the door on the latch for ya

@Amisja haha. nothing wrong with your sense of humour anyway.

You are a very naughty girl, but I like you (With apologies to Dick Emery)

Hot soda? Hot ginger ale, with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream will cure those blurghies, and anything else ya got! (Detroiters will get it!).

@HomeAloneSunday I know, I know. But in the UK, they have REAL ginger ale, with alcohol in it. I doubt you can buy Vernors over there.

@MissKathleen Did Vernors let their employees bring home cases of the golden nectar? If so, lucky you!

I’m sorry...both that you are sick, and for missing your mother. Sending virtual hugs, hot sweet tea with honey, and whatever that vimto stuff is!

Hahaha...its fruit cordial. Very popular in the north of England in the 70s. Still is. Actually ruinous to teeth.

@Amisja I visited northern England in 2015. Durham and Newcastle. Beautiful...and the trains were so entertaining.
Going to Newcastle we had train seats at a booth, on one side. These three young women staggered on an hour from Newcastle; gorgeous girls, early 20’s. They sat across our booth, and across the aisle. I was IMPRESSED at their commitment to party: they had shopping bags full of liquor, mixers, cups, little things like egg cartons that had jello and other shots...they took to drinking and planning the day to come. Drinks, hotel, a meal, drinks, clubbing. And more drinks.
I’d have been on the floor inside 30 minutes, lol. With every curve, the bottles would go ‘skeeeech’ across the table. Then back.
I loved that trip, went to Scotland the week before. I want to go back!
Hope you’re feeling a bit better ?.

@CarolinaGirl60 Hahaha. You mean these lasses? 😉

@Amisja Must have been, lol. It was like a bottomless magic drink bag...just kept setting stuff out! I need me a bag like that, but full of groceries ?.

@CarolinaGirl60 haha
