There was a wasp in my kitchen. In February. I am terrified of wasps, couldn't find a swatter, so I took out the can of wasp spray and hosed down a chunk of kitchen in the process. Anyone know how I can prevent any other wasps from making an appearance? I have very few base fears, flying stinging things is pretty much it. I am honestly contemplating a hotel, because I'll never get to sleep in this house right now

I feel your pain! I watched my dad get attacked by wasps as a kid and he ended up in the hospital. After that... He had to carry around a bee sting kit for the rest of his life.

I'll meet a black bear in the woods with a club and face down the meanest dog... But I hate yellow jackets, hornets and wasps! They are my only phobia!

I live out on 12 acres. When I first built my house here it was like the bees didn't even know I was here. The second year I was inundated... I couldn't buy enough bee killer! I will go out of my way to kill any of them. THEN... I learned about Mosquito Authority! They advertise no chiggers, ticks or mosquitos after their treatment. They spray a mixture of pyrethrin and water to coat everything. Pyrethrin is made naturally from chrysanthemum flowers and is harmless to all mammals... But insects avoid it! If they do land on it... They die! I just paid $673 for a years worth of treatments... Starting in March and going til October. Every three weeks I have them come out and spray the woods edge (yellow jackets like those areas), around my foundation, into my eaves and soffits, under my decks and shed, etc.

The only time I see a wasp now is when the queens emerge in spring. I'll spray them if I see them... But they either die when they touch the treatment or they move along. The only hornets I see fly across my property and usually do not stop. I have had no more yellow jackets either. The bonus is also I am free of spiders. They don't frighten me but they would spin webs and make my house look haunted after a week! I was constantly knocking down their webs. I stay pretty bug free except for gnat week. Once a year they go crazy for a week out here. LOL

No do not do this. Do not use commercial sprays, do not kill them. Open windows and doors...catch in a glass and free them.

There isn't protective gear on earth that would make it ok for me to do this.

@CommonHuman I'll do it
