A step in the right direction perhaps? (UK news)
A weekly Sunday service will no longer be compulsory for churches after a vote to change a 400-year-old law was passed by the Church of England's ruling body.
The General Synod voted to end the law - dating back to 1603 - which required priests to hold a Sunday service in every church they looked after.
The Bishop of Willesden, who proposed the change, called it "out of date".

Rt Rev Pete Broadbent,Bishop of Willesden is quite a character, though a church of England Bishop he is a self professed republican in favour of the abolition of the monarchy, he referred to the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana Spencer as being like "Big ears from Noddy marrying a porcelain doll" thought Harry and Megan's wedding to be an exercise in shallow celebrity and has twice been made to go "on sabbatical" for upsetting members of the church and the government but so far has been unable to be unseated from his dioceses possibly because he also chairs and edits the Church of England Newspaper.
Good information there - thank you!
