watched an excellent movie last eve on HBO. the title is Lucky with Harry Dean Stanton & an excellent supporting cast.
he played a 90 yr old atheist who was trying to come to terms with the end of his existence.
he looked a little familiar to me. i googled him & he's been in movies & TV for 60 yrs but never a leading role until he was 58 (Paris, TX.)
he's also know as a musician & the musical score was very good.
i am a big fan of stanton's (i was sad to hear, in recent years, that he had died). he had a small but memorable part in "the rose" but you're right, it took "paris, texas" to get him a lead, which he well deserved. i had no idea who he was at that time; i was just a wim wenders fan!

he died in 2017 the same year that the movie was released & at the same age as the character he played in that movie (90).
@callmedubious wow. well at least he lived a long life. but i'm selfish. i miss people who die even if i don't know them personally, because i want more from them, be it movies, books, whatever. i want more.
