Every year, I try to take a trip in winter and one in summer. Each to a new region or country. Typically the spring trip is to a new tropical location. This year was to oyster bay in Jamaica. It's a hotel adult only all inclusive. I had great weather , but had a terrible cold.
This summer I just booked a trip to Iceland. Very excited for the people , natural beauty , and history. A bit concerned about the food. Anybody been there? Any food traveling tips?
Go to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos. Hong Kong has the best food in the world in my opinion. Doesn't even have to be a fancy restaurant any small or large eatery is superb and inexpensive.
Thanks ...lol but right now I'm going to Iceland.
Good food certainly in HK, but for great food go to Singapore/Malaysia...there you have Malay, Indian and Chinese cuisines to choose from, and the Street Food Stalls all serve world class food for next to nothing!
@Bigwavedave Don’t know much about the food in Iceland....but I think it’s a safe bet that there will be a lot of fish on the menu.
@Bigwavedave don't try any vietnamese options in iceland
@Marionville Been to Singapore and Malaysia. Food was ok in Singapore but expensive and the city boring and uptight. Seems like all they do is go to University and shop. Malaysia food was better and inexpensive but the people weren't that friendly.
@rogueflyer I always found the Malaysian people very friendly...Singapore is expensive, but the city is far from boring...on the contrary. It is very clean, orderly, and law-abiding, but if you know where to go it’s great fun. My husband and I were going to retire to Malaysia...to the island of Langkawi, were going to take our motor yacht out there. We had planned to do charters with tourists, but sadly my husband died and I then sold the boat.
