I challenge any Republican to list 10 pieces of legislation originated by any Republican since 1930 which is designed to either (1) reduce inequities, empower people, and/or benefit the well-being of all of our people (excluding tax cuts, national defense, and/or law and order). You can't, and the fact that you can't shows clearly that the Republican Party does not deserve the public trust. I doubt that you could even list 5 such pieces of legislation.
I'm no repub. At allllll. I do try and give all groups some benefits of the doubt, pre Reagan. If anyone did, it may have been Ike. Ike tried to pass a comprehensive equal rights legislation that was better than what LBJ passed - but, oh yeah, the republicans in Congress stopped that from happening.
