Association of American Physicians and Surgeons Statement on Federal Vaccine Mandates
Note: AAPS is NOT a general inclusive group of all or even most US doctors (less than 0.5%). Current membership is around 5000. There are 1.1 million total foctors in the US. This is a political group. These opinions are not reflective of the current US medical population.
Unfortunately Wikipedia also has a political orientation. It seems to me that in 2019 everyone and everything has a political viewpoint. All we can try to do is to evaluate arguments on their own merits and try to avoid being lied to. I hadn't known before that as of 2/16/2018 the last measles death in the USA was in 2015. It doesn't seem like an urgent enough public health problem to ask people to give up their freedom for.
@doug6352 Oh, I totally know that. These days people get political about things as mundane as toilet paper. The statement contained opinions that I am quite sure are not general medical opinion, so I checked on what the AAPS is, not recognizing it as a known voice for the profession.
I do agree that we need to be careful when calling in the feds. Getting rights back can be much more difficult if we later find we were short sighted in giving them away.
