Beards are natural, and have been around since the evolution of mankind. Mullets are cheesy hair cuts

have lots of chin hair, will travel.

I keep the beard trimmed but grow my hair out. I plan on cutting it and donating it at some point. But right now it's several inches over my shoulder... Time for another trim.

And maybe I am just an old hippy but manbuns are annoying as shit! Wear a ponytail brah!

I think beards are better than man buns, but they seem to occur simultaneously.

Both look like they could’ve played second base for the Boston Red Sox the one on the left 2010 and the one on the right in 1982. Perhaps I’m jealous because I can grow a mullet. I don’t beard near that much.

Yes. Styles change over time.

I like facial hair on a man, I like moustaches and beards - but I like a well-maintained, or neat, beard or moustache. My sons (I have a matched set of tall redheaded men, gingers, actually!) both have beards, one is rather Viking-ish, the other is neat, tidy, and shorter. Not that I would say anything negative to either son, but my personal preference is the tidy style! My daughter's husband also has a beard, and his is heavy and dark. It looks great on him, too. (Never mind that is seems to only take a day or two for him to grow a full beard!)

My brothers have/had blonde hair with red beards. They don’t always wear beards, but I think that the contrasting colors are very Viking and is a good look on them. I too, like a trimmed beard, but to each their own.

don't they tickle?

Why would any rational, reasonable, person want to attempt to change your mind?

Lol is a meme that's been going around. I wanted to read everyone's input

And you're right. A rationale and reasonable person wouldn't want to change my mind. They'd be super offended ?

Sorry, but I have to
Business in the front, party in the back!

I have been astonished by the great hatred some people show for hair styles. I f they wear it well and feel good in the look, I am happy for them. These fashions have come and gone for thousands of years. I enjoy the show Vikings, which has a wide range of long to short hairstyles, some bearded, some not. Different people look better in different styles.

If you can pull it off, go for it! I saw a meme and thought I'd bring it to agnostics and start a friendly riot ?

@Kayterade5348 just stirring the pot...lol

Love Vikings as well

Well a mullet was more universal as kids and even women had mullets.

I'm wondering whether it has something to do with living in a hot part of the country. Up here in the north it isn't unusual for men to grow out their beards for the winter. Off they come in the summers.
I'm a feminist and I find beards like the one shown to be extremely attractive. It isn't remotely unkempt. It has nothing to do with how masculine they appear, at least as far as I'm concerned. I find many of the markers of 'masculinity' unattractive -- such as six packs and muscles that were clearly achieved in a gym, But that's just me. (BTW I'm old enough to remember mullets and always thought they were silly.)

I find long, unkempt beards repulsive.

yes

You too can look like a manly Muslim man. Feminists love them.

Could you explain?

@brentan

You are wrong. As a feminist, I find long beards repulsive.

Research shows the 90% of women do not like beards. I prefer a clean-shaven man.

It's the idea that feminists are two-faced about wanting Western men to be less masculine while never saying a word of criticism about male dominance in Muslim countries.

[google.com]

@LiterateHiker there are study after study after study that say you're wrong about 90%. I posted an article that discusses one such study. Your opinion may be that but it isn't the majority

@brentan

Sounds like your feel emasculated by strong, intelligent women. That's YOUR issue. Your assumptions about women are wrong.

How do you define "masculine"? A good ol' boy, fat, uneducated, tobacco-chewin', Republican, hunter and fisherman who loves his snowmobile, Harley and chainsaw and decorates with antlers? UGH.

I love intelligent, well-read, educated, liberal, funny men who are great lovers, athletic and fit.

As a Democrat and feminist, I fight for women's rights, education and voting rights. Outlawing child marriage. I despise men who expect women to be submissive, including Christian and Muslim countries.

@Biosteelman

Not all polls are the same. I read 90%. I stand corrected.

@brentan my husband is a man’s man kind of guy and we are both feminists. Why would you think feminists want men to be less masculine? Men are fantastic. And I never want them to lose their ability to open jars.

@LiterateHiker to be fair in my personal experience it was about 60/40 with the majority preferring clean shaven.
But then Tom Selek, Riker from Star Trek, Thor....make me realize they might not be honest.

@maturin1919 lol hold up... So, because of some women's preferences, men feel they HAVE to have beards? I'm calling shenanigans

@LiterateHiker I was speaking about feminists as a group. There are always exceptions.

@brentan

You are unfairly stereotyping women. How would you like it if I said all men are assholes?

Feminism: "The advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes."

@LiterateHiker I said nothing about all women.
