The book, Origin, by Dan Brown contains the most erudite and articulate case against religion that you will ever find. It is well worth reading if only for the chapter concerning Kirsch's revelation of his earth-shaking discovery. I have not finished the book, and I know it's just another who done it but the scene mentioned is a masterpiece of logic.
Sounds intriguing!
Solid arguments against religion have the most impact on those who are not religious. That's because they require logic, reason and critical thinking. For the religious person, these applications are only for things not having to do with their God.
In the book, the scientist who expounds on the theorem is murdered by Opus Dei or some such cult before he can reveal it to the public (of course!)

Consistent with their style of doing things!
Sadly, it's easier to assign those applications to "faith". It requires a lot less observing, reading and just plain thinking!
