Trump wants a wall. It is an expensive proposal. However, nice. Maybe a singnificantly less expensive, much more effective solution is laying a minefield. A properly structured field will stop both people and vehicles. All along the border.

Two Mexican dudes approached the border. One went ahead to scout out the terrain. He came running back and yelled to his friend, "it's a trick, we can not go across the border". His friend was puzzled, "why not", he asked? "Because there is a plant with pork products hanging off it up ahead"! His friend, still puzzled asked why would that be a problem and his friend blurted out, "BECAUSE, IT'S A HAMBUSH."

It's a bloody barbaric solution, which would be far worse than what's happening at the border right now. Instead of trying to come to practical terms with the streams of people trying to enter the country you want a blood bath...shame.

Bloody barbaric? Yes. How about when all the Socialist countries employed it? Did you complain?

Like I said

Wouldn't that be something for some children and women to make their way 2,000 miles seeking refuge from deadly gang violence and poverty in their homeland only to be blown up by some asshole Americans.

Landmine deaths soar in 2016 with record number of child victims

Anyway, if you can't tell, I disagree that America should be more like Cambodia or Somalia.

Wow zesty you have done it again. Massaging all of our minds with your creative ideals. I like the idea of land mines but unfortunately it is obvious that once a path is created we would have to replace those mines. Also, as a vet. I understand that people will sacrifice any and everything they have to get what they want. It would cost more money to continually replace those mines. A wall would not work either. The best thing to do is to create a city outside of the border and let them create their own utopia while trying to earn US citizenship the proper way. The government is not against illegal aliens. I feel that they know where our economy is heading and an ass load of people is about to lose their jobs. Just my personal thought.

@dave1459 you are right but like all things it takes team work. People are clawing each others faces to get no where. It's like asking people who live in the ghetto to help each other. It's possible but not probable

A few heavy rocks and you have a path. Besides, the Coyotes don’t care. They’ll push some of their charges through to clear a path.

If only mine clearing was that c simple!

Land mines? What have we become now? Indiscrimminate killers? Are you all for real?

Wow … we’re going to war?

Strictly defense!

@zesty I am no fan of illegal immigration.. Having given that some thought ..I can’t think of a ‘declared war’ within my lifetime. Would Congress not have to declare war in order for trump to mine even our side of that border?

Actually, the more I think about the idea of land mines, the more sense it might make.. But just like ‘a wall,’ it’s only going to shove the problem offshore or airborne. But what a message. ..could they still assemble & ship our Carhartts?

In 2014, the US stopped using land mines outside of the Korean Peninsula.

Well, it is our land.

@zesty
But landmines are completely indiscriminate in who gets hurt or killed. Just as likely to kill animals as people.

@Haemish1 Animals? Yes, so?

@zesty
I’m guessing the indiscriminate killing of people and animals probably won’t go over too well, but maybe you should suggest it to 45?
