Hello Everybody! Anyone going to the American Atheist conference in Oklahoma City later this month?
I am thinking about it, but the idea of having to endure Red and the rest of the AOK members does not intrigue me. I had to deal with their boring brand of idiocy at the Church of Satan protest a while back and being in a room with Red for any amount of time makes my stomach turn. We shall see.
I would love to go, but I can't make it this year.
I won't go, It'll only be a sermon about non-belief.
How dare they stand up for their atheism!
I just dislike sermons of any kind.
This is incorrect, and an ignorant statement. It’s far from atheist church. They always have an amazing panel of speakers with topics that range from protecting all theists and non-theists rights (believe me, you ARE in jeopardy now more than ever) to incredible first accounts from those who’ve escaped faith and so much more. It’s about far more than atheism.
And for those who feel isolated in this ‘Christian or fuck off’ nation, it’s a unique feeling to know that you’re surrounded by like minded non-theists, if only for a few days.
And I’m speaking from experience, you clearly, have never attended one of these conventions.
@ChrisFL Of course it is and of course they do.
When is it? If it falls right I wouldn't mind going.
