The guy that wrote the books the series is based on is from here in West Virginia. Obviously, he lives somewhere out west now though. I haven't read the books, but I have watched the series. It's good. Though I'll admit I have a soft spot for westerns.

Good series. Relatable to those of us in the Rocky Mountain West

Never saw the series. WOuld see the fi,ming from time to time

@btroje That's right parts of it were filmed by you. I used to bicycle to the movie sets outside Santa Fe for many years (Gallisteo, Lone Butte, etc).

@t1nick this is filmed right here in town on the plaza

@btroje. Cool, I always liked your plaza and railway station.

@TheAstroChuck No. Never had the opportunity. The shooting schedle always conflicted with my teaching schedule. Opps, question wasnt meant for me. Sorry

@TheAstroChuck No I havent. The movie people come in like a secret tribe. THey cordon off the areas they work for the most part and even bring in their own food. If they advertise for extras I wouldnt have a clue where it is posted

@TheAstroChuck I was actually living in one of the hotels in NO Country for Old Men.THe one where he hid the bag of money in the heating duct. All I saw was movie people out in the parking lot. I thought they were done working and just hanging out but they were filming those scenes

@TheAstroChuck I knew a lot of people in the movie industry when I lived in Santa Fe (not so much the actors, mostly behind the scenes persons).
