Militant Agnostics?
I have to say the agnostics that I know personally are pretty mild mannered and even a bit wishy-washy kind of people.
Until I came to this site I'd never run into the "militant agnostic" before. It surprised me. Took me a minute to actually catch on but there it is... maybe it's from people calling them fence riders, I don't know but they can also be aggressively so.

I used to think of Atheists as Fundamentalists non-believers, ie, radical. So for years I preferred to refer to my non belief as Agnostic. I have since realized that Atheists, like most other personal beliefs, come in astronomical varieties, from the militant to the closeted. So I now proudly assume the Atheists designation and as a sidebar, have become somewhat more critical of the religious stranglehold in this country. Even more so since The Orange Diety assumed office and takes the country down the sewer hole of theocracy.
Hear, hear. Or in the case case of orange man - "Hair - hair."
A lot of the "atheist" speakers are agnostic actually, they say it when asked directly, but in the common talks they do not talk about it because it is one more idea to explain that will not move towards the goal.
Agnostics can be antitheists also.
As far as I see there are 2 kinds of militancy:
The defensive one that goes for laic state and freedom of religion, and freedom to not have a religion also, showing that sometimes just by having a religion you get more rights (and taking this right to the absurd as the document photo of the pastafarians).
And the offensive ones from antiheists that really want to take down the institutions that represents the religions.
Both atheists and agnostics can go for those 2 ways.
Apparently I have seen this "militant" attitude and didn't recognize it. What do you mean by this? Maybe it is me too.
