How many people know about this initiative? It's a 50 year project to grow a "Great Green Wall" right across Africa, just south of the Sahara desert. Started 12 years ago, it is already transforming lives and livelihoods.
Instead of wasting money building a wall along the Mexican border, surely a Great, Green Wall in the dust-bowls of the USA would be money far better spent.

Some good news for once and I believe China has increased it's area of forest cover in the past ten years and millions of trees are being planted in India. This will help to make up for the deforestation in South America.

Sounds like a sensible, constructive idea, which means it won't be happening under the current administration.

A very unfortunate probability.

This might be part of what the Savory Institute in Massachusetts is doing. Using herbivores in what is called permaculture where plants and animals interact to restore fertile soil.

I did not know about that, but it's a good thing!
