Try this eat first...one beer then one soft drink. Limit yourself to one day a week. Find a buddy and if you feel the need call them. I would be seriously as concerned about your use of benzodiazepines. If the alcohol and benzos are 'treating' anxiety then try and find some proper help. Benzos are very dangerous. I would only recommend them rarely, never for long term use and only ever as an adjunct to decent MH care. If you believe you are addicted to alcohol then you MUST seek medical support, withdrawal without can be extremely dangerous.

I can't stand alcohol never been a real drinker now taking medication that will cause my liver to fail if I drink so I just stick to my weed it's legal in Washington state and it doesn't seem to have all of the long-term damage that alcohol does

my biggest problem is that i really enjoy the taste of good craft beer ( which is high in alcohol) & good whiskey (which is expensive).
weed now legal up here.. did it many years ago. i'm thinking of trying vaping. have you tried it?
a little reluctant to subject my lungs to the smoke again.

@callmedubious legal weed is so wonderful now that you don't have to smoke very much and yes I just use a dab pen little bit different kind of high than smoking just straight flower it's also a lot more powerful you get a good weed that's maybe 23-26 percent you can buy a vapor pen which might be 72% might want to approach that cautiously

Depends on the situation. If I'm out partying with friends? Fuggedabowtit. At home on a Tuesday? Better.

I have successfully been limiting the alcohol I drink all of my life. I dislike the feeling of being out of control (if I have had too much to drink, which is incredibly rare for me), and I do not really like the taste of most alcoholic beverages. There are some liqueurs that I enjoy, but I still stop after one drink, one small drink. I do not have issues with alcoholism, but I watched its affects on my biological father, and my ex-husband, and that alone is enough to give me control to safely avoid alcohol...

I was sober 5 years now I can drink one or two a only. Life is better sober.

i wish one or two would work for me.. always the same problem, build up a tolerance. don't even notice 1 or 2.
