Usernames.... How did you choose your username for agnostic and what's the story behind it.... ? Would you ever change it and if so, why?

I choose my username because my Dad called me cutiebeauty since I was born and up until I was ten years old when he and my Mom were killed...

A long time ago, old girlfriend, Stephanie, too beautiful for me, left me for an engineer. We made up this silly nickname for the two of us, Storm Phaney. (My last name, Stortz, her first name, Stephanie. Get it?) So Storm it is.

My daughter calls me faja as a term of endearment
The Darth part is because I’m a nerd

What does faja mean? Father?

@Cutiebeauty
Yes ?

My partners son calls him faja too

More nerd for you "Darth Vader" well Vader in German is Vater which means father. But I bet ypu knew that already

Basically I got tired of people on xbox asking me "are you a girl what's your name???" so I changed my gamertag to "Ladyalyxandrea" and, well, it's never taken as a username and it gets the information across. I am a Lady named Alyxandrea

Too bad people on xbox still ask me if I'm a girl and what my name is?

I'd made a similar post about this in August
What’s the origin of your Agnostic.com name?
but almost 8 months ago is a long time, so no problem about it. But this is what I had written about mine:

My name, bleurowz, is the name for my design/creative work. I love a blue rose, and so I took the words and put them together in a different way, and I’ve also created this logo for myself.

But there’s more to this story. Sometime after a friend had asked me if I’d gotten the name from The Glass Menagerie -- I had to look it up, and this is what I found: “Jim calls Laura ‘Blue Roses,’ a mispronunciation of ‘pleurosis,’ the childhood disease that left Laura crippled. The name ‘Blue Roses’ turns Laura’s defect into an asset: her unusual qualities are seen as special rather than debilitating.”

I can’t make this stuff up.

Many moons ago, when I was young, skinny, shaved of pate and goateed of beard, I fronted a death metal band. Please see exhibit A,

. We used to sit around, get smashed, and try to come up with the most ludicrously evil/gross/ridiculous ideas for lyrics.
One that never made it in to a song was Mr Beelzeebubbles, the satanic clown and all-round children's entertainer. I've used it on various online platforms since.
Please don't judge me. I spent the '90's trying to smoke my meagre bodyweight in dope.

@Bierbasstard Splug is great. Sounds like a ladle of mashed potato hitting a wall.

I like pralina ice cream and pralina chocolate . A lot 😂

Needed one because for personal reasons can not use my real name, so since ferns don't flower, they can never have fruit, So fern-apple something unreal. First thing that popped into my head really.

Likely due to my Asperger's Syndrome, I am a recluse...much like a hermit. My father grew-up speaking Polish, so he had a heavy accent that precluded the "th" sound. So, all "th" sounds were pronounced as "d" or not pronounced at all. For instance "North" became, "Nort", "this" was pronounced as
"dis", and "the" was pronounced as "da". Therefore, I chose "dahermit" as my screen name..."The Hermit", but with a Polish accent.

Very sweet story about your dad but so sad at the end! I chose mine because I love Liverpool and the Beatles. I would change it if necessary for security reasons...

When we were little, my sister and me found it funny to emphasis the wrong syllables in words to make them sound foreign. Hence I became J'Nei and she became De'AHna.

For me it was the stupidest name I could think of

I use the screen name "KevinAverett", because my real name is Kevin Averett.
I am a proud man, and hide behind nothing.

Its my name lol xx

Choosing my username was easy; I just chose the name I was born with. I decided that on the very off chance that I might find companionship on this sight, I would start off by being as honest as possible. I realize that "putting myself put there" might leave me somewhat vulnerable and open to criticism, but I also realized that so many years of pretending to be someone I'm not has left me in the position I am in.

Buttercup was my favorite guinea pig of all time

Sassy is my dog who just turned 11.

When I was signing up I was feeling pretty good. Part of the attraction was because it was a dating site. I'm a positive type person anyway so I just thought be happy, that might catch someone's eye! Then I thought it might make them smile or maybe even inspire someone. Added the extra e just to be different (come to find out, it's not so different, oh well. Lol).

It was the best word I think of, that described the next stage of my life. I freed myself from religious bs and the number was my age at the time. Becoming an Atheist is the best descision I have ever made in my life. I wish I did it earlier in life.

I'm with you on that 100%. But I'm enjoying it now.

@BeeHappy this site has really opened my eyes. I can't believe how brain washed I was and hypocrit. I feel more accepted here, than I did as a believer in dogma.

@freedom41 It's changed my life as well. I was a non-believer when I joined but didn't fully grasp what that meant at the time and certainly hadn't associated being an atheist. But wow... what a difference now. ?

My fav song and my sons badge number.

How did I choose my user name? Boring answer, I'm afraid. It's my name. Used a last initial only, so people wouldn't ask if I was THAT "Steve Miller". I do play the guitar, but not that good. 🙂

3

It's just my name. ?‍♂️

3

The Wurlitzer electric piano is one of my favorite sounds. I would change it to Nord if they gave me a free keyboard 🙂

3

I use my real nickname

When I first moved to China I had a Japanese gf. I told her I was amazed at how popular I was. She said, that's because you are a panda, a novelty. Thus, SeattlePanda.

Wildflower by Bon Jovi.

"Nobody knows a wildflower still grows
By the side of the road
And she don't need to need like the roses
Wildflower
That girl's sure put a spell on me
Yeah, her voodoos hidden right behind her pocket
If she's fire, I'm gasoline
Yeah, we fight a lot but neither wants to stop it
Well, she'll tell you she's an only child until you meet her brothers
Swear she's never met the man she couldn't make into a lover"

So sorry about your parents Cutiebeauty. I took my screen name for my grandchildren who call me Gammy, and just added redheaded to that.

Wait! You have red hair ???? sorry couldn't resist

@Heidi68 Lol, it comes from a bottle, but I feel like a redhead in my bones. ?

@Redheadedgammy doesn't matter where it comes from, it is all about attitude & owning it. I did auburn when i turned 40, absolutely loved it except it turned orange because I spend so much time in the sun.
