Usernames.... How did you choose your username for agnostic and what's the story behind it.... ? Would you ever change it and if so, why?

I choose my username because my Dad called me cutiebeauty since I was born and up until I was ten years old when he and my Mom were killed...

I miss Syd Barrett.
Wish you were here.

Used to walk past his place in Cambridge fairly regularly. Poor bugger.

Oh I am so sorry for that awful experience. Hugs xx
Am= Amelia
Is=Isaac
Ja=Jacob...my children

Syd Arthur is just a westernised play on Siddhattha (Gotama) - The Buddha. I was quite spiritual on my journey to becoming Athiest/agnostic. 7 was just my favourite number as a child.
Hmm, what’s the point of having a favourite number?

A long time ago, old girlfriend, Stephanie, too beautiful for me, left me for an engineer. We made up this silly nickname for the two of us, Storm Phaney. (My last name, Stortz, her first name, Stephanie. Get it?) So Storm it is.

I use GwenBFree because as an atheist I feel free from the judgement of my religious past.

I chose Logician for a VERY logical reason! It's because I use logic to trouble shoot various systems, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic. When I was the Lead Mechanic in the Ventura District Garage for SoCalEdison, I had the handle Top Gun because I always hit my targets in diagnosing problems with the cars and trucks.
I like my user name, so I think that I'll stick with it.

Praxis means to do or act on. It's where the word practice comes from. I do, i act. The 99 is because 99 is the coolest number in existence. ?

My name, plus the zip code where I worked when I got my first personal email account way back when, on Yahoo.

I am sorry to hear about this happening to you when you were ten. I hope you are not alone in this world, that you have someone that cares about you event hough you are 29. Take good care of yourself.

My grandparents adopted me.... They're gone too... But I'm with my boyfriend now and that's going very nicely ?

It was easy I thought about stars and galaxies and traveling at the speed of light (maximum speed), dropped the 'imum' and then combined two words which forms my username on here.

Dandewine has been my username since aol chatrooms. My favorite springtime book is Dandelion Wine.

2

Gee... What happened to your folks?

They were killed by a drunken driver...

Mine is just the first half of my first name added to the first half of my surname.

Savage is what I have called myself since 18, now 54. Though usually shortened to Sav. Given TV interviews, national papers local papers interviews under the name, been arrested as Sav, lol. Had hoped to officailly take it as my name but life got in the way. So my passport says something else. No, not telling, lol But on FB I'm Sav McGlynn.

Long ago, when I first used the internet, I had a different user name bit kept getting rude texts from men in another country. I had no idea that the name implicated that I was seeking sex. So I changed it to reflect my personality. I've had the same user name my entire online life since.

I wish people wouldn't use silly usernames, but use their first name with something added. I like to know I'm dealing with a John, Mary or Frank, and not some silly name. Sorry but that's how I feel.

@Allamanda I certainly understand that point. For me, though, when I know just their first name it feels more real than just some username.

Well, your dad was right!

My current user name here has evolved out of African shing which is just a Kenyan "hip" way of using your real name and shortening it down some at the same time. It makes sense to them and I use the same name on FB. It hides you somewhat if you are into political activism but my user name makes Trump supporters think that maybe I'm not a citizen and not qualified to vote. Many of them have told me this.

On another atheist site I am Michael Penn. This is a middle name and again a shortened last name. I am not trying to be Sean Penn's brother. Honest! 🙂

It's the username I created for AOL 25 years ago.

i wouldn't change it; it's my hebrew first name! i had it before i had my english one and this is it. i'm named after one of my great-grandmothers.

well when I used to do online dating I had the word fem in my username which was short for feminist. But people assumed it was short for feminine. And I wanted to stop being afraid to admit it, for the blowback it tends to cause among THOSE men and their handmaidens, and just wrote it out. The demi is short for demisexual and was meant as a deterrent to hookup guys contacting me. And the gal is pretty obvious. So that's the origins of my moniker creation story. 😉

No brainer. Abbreviated name.

There was a Japanese superhero in the 1960's and 70s called Cutie Honey by Manga Legenend Go Nagai, she had a short lived side kick called Cutiebaby, I was obviously over thinking and over geeking your name.
Mine is just my name

I love manga and all japanese cartoons, I lived there for six years! Cutie Honey was cute indeed!

@Merseyman1
My late writing partner lived there for the last years of his life and worked in Hiroshima, he introduced me to the culture and I was hooked.
